The Spirit of the Great Heart

Location

Oakdown Camp comes equipped with most things you need. Hot showers, toilets, firepit, braai area (BBQ) and plenty of space to pitch your tents, caravans, motorhomes and of course a treehouse.

Facilities

Nestled between a few agricultural pastures close to Horsham, Oakdown Camp is a secluded plot with a spring-fed pond and a large fallen oak which give it character.

Meet the locals

Friendly and inquisitive Boer goats, Betty and Bernadette are in charge, with their young companions Jen, Coco, Lily, Abigail and Nessie.

For all the scatterlings of Africa

When the copper sun is sinking low, scatterlings and fugitives seek refuge in the night. Luckily our big open fire is the best place for hooded eyes and weary brows to relax and reconnect with the soul.

Guka 'mzimba, sala 'nhliziyo

There's a highway of stars across the heavens. There's whispering song of the wind in the grass. So when you're searching for the Spirit of the Great Heart, you will know you have come to the right place. A hope and dream at the edge of the sky.

There's something magical about sitting around a large fire. We call it the bush TV. It's great to escape from our busy lives and connect with our primeval spirit.
